Mac joined Bionical as CEO in 2014 and has overseen the company’s remarkable growth, fuelled by carefully planned strategic acquisitions alongside rapid organic expansion. Mac has delivered extraordinary success in a series of leadership positions during his 30-year career in the healthcare industry. Before joining Bionical, he spent 17 years as a group board director at a leading global provider of pharmaceutical services, where his role was critical to the substantial worldwide growth of that business. In Mac’s time at Bionical, he has assembled a uniquely talented and successful team who design and deliver innovative services, proven to deliver improved outcomes for patients, on behalf of the company’s many pharmaceutical and public sector clients.
Chief Executive Officer, EMAS Pharma
Throughout his time in the pharmaceutical sector Peter has held numerous senior posts with duties ranging from drug development to medical affairs for major as well as small pharma. He has brought multiple successful products to market both as blockbusters and as niche products. Peter has established drug safety processes and overseen successful regulatory procedures for a range of products from radiolabelled monoclonal antibodies to mast cell histamine release inhibitors and from glucoside inhibitors to proton pump inhibitors.
Chief Medical Officer, EMAS Pharma
A UK qualified doctor with 17 years industry experience including senior management and director level roles in both large and small pharmaceutical companies, CROs and consulting. An anaesthetist by training a with experience in a broad range of therapy areas including oncology, respiratory medicine, anti-infectives, GI disorders, rheumatology and men’s and women’s health. Experience in pre and post marketing environment, including multiple primary and specialty care product launches, biologic product development, regulatory, pharmacovigilance, clinical operations and health technology appraisals.
Director of Clinical Trial Services
Helen has extensive commercial and clinical experience that has been gained over 23 years working within the Pharmaceutical industry. Helen thrives on providing solutions based on innovation in service delivery to support and improve patient outcomes. Understanding the specific needs of the client, aligned with patient journey mapping that challenges current thinking is key to creating solutions that deliver outcomes at every stage of the product life cycle. Helen has experience of 27 product launches, has developed in excess of 100 clinical programmes internationally and has extensive knowledge of homecare and patient support services across a wide range of channels.
Divisional Director of Public Health and Digital
Through his degree in Accounting and Finance and subsequent professional ACMA qualifications, Andy’s formative positions were held across a range of finance roles. Broadening his experience via a number of different industries, his last 15 years prior to joining Bionical were spent working in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) where he held a variety of senior leadership roles in Finance, Operations, A&M and Category Management in both the UK and at Group level across Europe. Andy’s broad industry and functional experience enables Bionical to take capitalise on a fresh and different perspective.

Emily is skilled at being able to quickly understand clients’ business objectives and, using proven research methods, uncover and interpret end user needs. Qualified with a first-class degree in Psychology and a PhD in the field of Human Computer Interaction, Emily is widely experienced in applying research techniques in both industry and academia, offering a unique combination of practical insight backed by academic rigour.
CEO of Bionical USA
As CEO of the US business Andy was recognized in 2016 as one of the PharmaVoice Top 100 inspiring leaders. His transformational thinking led the team to the development of MED Select™, Bionical’s patient education engagement platform. Much of his time is devoted to driving innovation and product development of the company’s customized patient educational resources. These educational tools help bridge the gap between clinical and commercial activity, enhance patient engagement, and deliver maximum insights for clients.
President, Bionical Commercial Services
Wendy was appointed President Bionical Commercial Services bringing with her 24 years of experience in Pharma, CSO, and Start-ups. Her experience in Pharma began with American Cyanamid/Lederle Labs division, Wyeth and then Pfizer in roles of increasing responsibility. Wendy also has a deep history in CSO (Contract Services Organization) with 5 years of experience at 3 CSOs leading Field Sales and Clinical teams, managing the Call Center, as well as building out the Operational structure within the CSOs, as well as for clients.
Head of CSO (UK)
Paul has enjoyed remarkable success in a wide variety of senior commercial, sales management and training roles in several global healthcare companies. He put this extensive experience to good effect as one of the founders of North51 in 2003, where he established and developed their highly successful contract sales and recruitment division. Paul enjoys a fully deserved reputation for providing high quality and high performing resourcing solutions, perfectly tailored to clients’ needs.
Gareth has had a 20-year career in healthcare punctuated by the delivery of outstanding results. During his time at Takeda in a series of sales and marketing roles, he was integral to the development and implementation of innovative marketing strategies. These included the high profile and uniquely successful introduction of a game-changing key account management sales model, delivered through an outsourced contract sales provider. The new strategy delivered market leadership positions for the company’s cardiovascular and diabetes brands. He subsequently joined the provider, heading up their US operation where he worked to introduce innovative sales and clinical solutions before taking on responsibility for global marketing. Gareth joined Bionical in July 2016.
Director of Digital
Elly has 15 years pharmaceutical and healthcare experience in a variety of sales, management and operational roles and within a number of different disease areas. With significant experience in the design and delivery of both commercial and clinical multi-channel projects, Elly works with our customers to ensure our digital solutions meet their core business objectives but critically, also meet the needs of their platform users to ensure delivery and measurement of project outcomes.
Executive Director Business Development
Jonathan joined Bionical (then Ellis Pharma) in January 2013 to start our Clinical Trial Supply division. In January 2016, he transitioned to his current role based out of our US headquarters. Jonathan provides a deep understanding of the clinical trial sector, delivering customized and unique solutions to our customers’ Clinical Trial Supply (CTS) and Named Patient Programs (NPP) challenges. He is committed to providing access to the medicine patients require and driving innovation in unmet patient needs.
Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs
A registered Pharmacist, Jason is responsible for ensuring full adherence to the exacting standards required for regulatory compliance, licensing standards, governance and quality assurance. As well as directing overall strategy and providing leadership, Jason acts as the MHRA Responsible Person and provides expertise in Good Manufacturing Practice and Good Distribution Requirements.
Group Finance Director
Paul Spires is our Group Finance Director. He Joined Bionical Group in February 2016 and has a wealth of experience (20+ years) from working with dynamic entrepreneurial businesses and ensuring that they have the right financial reporting, processes and controls in place to underpin rapid growth. Paul is a Chartered Accountant and before joining Bionical, Paul was Finance Director of E-Lites, one of the UK's most successful e-cigarette brands. Prior to E-Lites, Paul ran his own consultancy business and spent several years at both KPMG, the international accountancy advisory firm and Catalyst Corporate Finance, the UK's leading independent corporate finance advisor.
Solicitor. Group Legal Director
A UK qualified solicitor, Roseanne began her legal career in private practice over 20 years ago, before moving in-house to develop and head up the legal department of a large pharmaceutical services company. Ten years later, inspired and excited by the opportunity and challenge it posed, she was lured to Bionical. With her in-depth pharma sector knowledge in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, along with her extensive experience in designing and implementing legal compliance programmes, she is ideally placed to head up the Legal function at Bionical.
