Bionical Commits to Quality Information Systems in a Patient-Centered Environment

Bionical Ltd., a partner to the pharmaceutical and device industry, has announced the hire of Simon Plummer as Group Head of Information Assurance. Simon, who will be based in the company’s UK headquarters in Willington, Derbyshire, will coordinate, publicise, and monitor the standards of information handling, including data protection, for the global Bionical organisation.

At Bionical, we realise that working in a connected and carefully coordinated office while taking advantage of the technology available creates effective communication. Data and information are not simply assets. Maintaining and monitoring the integrity of our information security management systems ensures secure management of patient information, financial information and intellectual property, while improving workflow and productivity, giving us the ability to change the way we respond to requests, as well as drive forth new products and services.

Group Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs (RP), Jason Shelley, remarks, “We created this position as we believe it will help us build upon our information security management systems that will help us improve patient outcomes. We have always placed high importance on quality service and regulatory compliance, and with our patient centred mission, we feel this position will give us a broader spectrum of how we can apply these procedures. With over fifteen years of experience in managing information systems, Simon will be a tremendous asset to the organisation.”

On joining Bionical, Simon comments, “I am excited to join a global organisation such as Bionical. I believe that as healthcare organisations, we have a tremendous responsibility to find quality solutions that help patients with their care. I look forward to working with the team at Bionical to drive these systems forward.”
