Bionical an Integrated Healthcare services provider achieves recognition in Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100

Bionical, which operates in the international pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, has been ranked 47th after growing its sales by 66% over the past three years to £30 million.

Bionical was set up in 2009 by serial entrepreneur Andy Leaver, who also co-founded pharmaceutical firm Clinigen, the No 1 company on the Fast Track 100 list in 2011, which has since floated. On becoming chief executive in 2014, Graham “Mac” McIntosh implemented the current business model, that focuses on improving patient outcomes through providing clinical, commercial and communications services to biotech, pharmaceutical companies and the NHS.

A multimillion pound investment in 2015 from Leaver’s private fund, Fullbrook Thorpe, was used to acquire three businesses, North 51 and US-based McCallan Health that year and Emas Pharma in 2016. Group sales hit £30m last year and the firm is eyeing continued growth in the UK, US and expansion into Europe.

Graham “Mac” McIntosh said ‘We are delighted with this recognition, this has been a great year for us and we have built a strong team and have very supportive investors. During 2017 the team worked hard to integrate our acquisitions and we are already bringing the benefits of cross company collaboration to our clients.”
